Filters and Skimmers?

Hi, im kind of new at this and have a 75gl tank, the guy at the pet store told me i need 2 fluval 404 so i got one for now and if i need the other one i will get it also. he also said i need a proteen skimmer? do i?
if so is there one that will go under my stand like the fluval does. any help will be great tks. this will be a fish tank not reef.

being as you will have FO, you probably will not need one if you keep bioload in perspecitve to your size of tank; there are differnt types of skimmers though; hang on's (prizm, seaclone), ones that are placed inside of sumps, and ones that will sit probably next to your filter, but will probably need additional tubing to make the stretch, or ones that rest in a corner in your tank somewhere
