Filtration or Lighting upgrade?

I have a 125g lightly stock aquarium that is 2yrs old. I have a 150 pro wet/dry that I want to replace and a 3 yr old G series solaris led lighting system that I'd like to upgrade to I5 with their upgrade kits or replace. I have 250-300 lbs lr and 6' DSB with a undersized prizm skimmer. I have 0 amm. and 15 trates so I think I am ok in that sense but since I want to do SPS,LPS and others it may need a better system to keep water quality consistent and better. On the other hand, my lighting is old and apparently ( according to peopel on the board and now solaris itself) low quality. Problem is, if I replace lights it'd have to be cheap as possible cuz I spent $4000 on it and I don't like having to replace it. Another problem is, if I get one it may be awhile before I get the other. So I'd like to hear your opinions on what I should get and which choices would be the best value.
Thanks Jake

u need a better skimmer for sure, or do a bigger water change each time. why not get a lesser expensive light and add a better skimmer?

thinking about doing that, not sure what light I could get that would be cheap but still keep SPS. Since I already have the light, I may just use their upgrade kits. Thinking about getting a reef devil refugium with ETSS skimmer, would that be good or not?

might try to start doing 10g a week.....
Any way, any suggestions on lighting/skimmer? Again, I can only get one unless its used/cheap.
