Filtration

What would be an adequate filtration system for a 55g with mostly fish and some live rock. Not looking to keep expensive corals right now as I lack the proper lighting.

DSB stands for Deep Sand Bed which i think should be at least four inches...5-6 inches seems to be what most people use

i thought that it is always good to have a wet/dry filter...is this untrue with a smaller tank such as his...i run a 180 gallon tank, should i have a wet/dry filter?
