Would a fimbraited moray and a tesselata moray work out in a 75g?
I'm trying to figure out my stock for the new 75g im plumbing into my other 75g, moving the fimbraited over to it after its all set up and want another eel. The fimby is a baby, only like 7" long so i thought if i got a baby tessy which the fish store usually gets, id be ok for a while?
Any suggesiton? Also interested in trying out another mexican dragon moray, saw a creme colored one in a store, anyone know what species that is?
Thanks for the suggestions!

No, the Tessy would need a 125 by its self when grown. These are two of the most aggressive eels out there, I would expect one of the two to eat the other (depending on size) especially in a 75

alright well can i put a mexican dragon moray with him? or what would you suggest. right now he is in with a chain link moray and a spotted moray until i get my other 75g running, he is somewhat pissy but is smaller than the other 2 but he holds his own.

Tessy needs a 300+ gallon when full grown. That is a 6 foot long animal. Yes it can be done in a 150 or 180 but that doesnt make it right IMO>

Honestly man I think you'd be pushing your luck by putting a Fimby with another eel, right now while he is small he is at risk of being eaten, and as he grows(up to a foot a year) he will be come very likely to eat the other eel, I personally would do something like a frogfish, toadfish, or a lion with him

didnt you already have this combo and your mexican had some issue and died?

Im glad your other two eels are doing great.

the mexican wasn't healthy to begin with and he didn't make it. chuck i have to disagree cause arlene has a fimbraited with a snowflake moray and those 2eels have a very different temperment so i don't understand what i wold be pushing.

and a frogfish is small, you don't think that an eel that you are making sound like a beast wouldn't eat it? im confused.

I wouldn't recommend a 125, but the 125 is the aboslute smallest tank an adult Tessy should be in IE worst case scenario.

Thats in a 125 and thats correct a snowflake is a very docile eel, and even then there is still a chance that the snowflake if large enough would eat the fimby, and an even better chance that as the fimby grows he would eat the snowflake, You have to remember in the wild eels are solitary animals, and there is very little overlapping of territories so it is always a risk when you mix eels especially something as aggressive as fimbys

ok well what can i put with the fimby in a 75g? My spotted and chain link are fine in my 75g that is already running with no problems? but i'll give you the benifit of the doubt. I just wanted to do eels but i dont want a baby fimby in a tank by itself for a few years. so any suggestions?

As I said in my first response I would look in to a Lionfish, Frogfish, or Toadfish, Maybe a Blueline Grouper they stay pretty small for a grouper (13")

but not another eel? groupers are even messier and your saying a fimbraited is so aggresive and would eat stuff, putting in a lion doesn't sound like a bright idea, if the fimby does go for him then i could lose both.

Yeah, my SFE and my Fimby are in my 125, but they are both relatively small. I might have gotten lucky because my Fimby is quite passive. At any rate, it is still a little cramped for them in the long run so I will be separating them this summer when I get my 240...
How about adding a smallish puffer? Bold enough to defend themselves and cool lookin'!

Keep them fed and happy is all I can say.

2 1/2 feet or so. google can be your best friend. The fimby would do great in 75 with either brightly colored damsels or chromis. Get like 5 - 7 of each. Color, activity, and a cheap snack if it happens
