Wow.
When we started this as a fun little event, we never thought we'd be looking back a month later at 1200 threads and over 4000 posts. Your enthusiasm and support have been simply overwhelming. Thank you.
So here we are on the last day of November, and this will be the last day to post pictures for inclusion in the remaining contests. Please feel free to continue to post your pictures in the Photography Forum after today.
We will make every attempt to get the remaining polls up through next week. Unexpectedly, SWFishy will not be in the office until Wednesday so I apologize in advance for the delays in posting the polls. As you can imagine, it is impossible to physically review 4000 posts...so matching your name to ours exactly is imperative. You can pm SWFishy if you feel there has been an error, but we are not going to re-do polls. So, be sure your entry matches exactly. Finally, on that note, since there can be variation within the coral species and often conflicting interpretations of what in fact the species is...we will be using the saltwaterfish.com picture and description as the guide. These are the animals that we sell and obviously the picture must reflect the stock that we have. So, we won't post pictures for the poll that might have the same species name, but does not accurataly reflect what we sell. I'm sure you understand.
The pictures have been outstanding and we look forward to awarding our grand prize the week after next from all the winners. I hope you all enjoyed this contest...and the spirit of fun and camaraderie it was intended to promote. If so, we'll definitely do other contests and events in the future.
Thanks for all your support.

If it is the first post(original one). You wont be able to change / edit it. To add it. Click the reply tab, then type the name in a new post(same thread).

Does anyone have any idea when the pictures get updated? I was just wondering if they are waiting until the end of the contest to update all at once. This contest has been great! Awesome idea SWF, I hope this went well enough to help to create new contests in the future!!! Again, thanks for your generosity.

no offense to scott, but swfishy was doing a better job at making sure all the pics were included. there's way too many pics being missed and it is unfair to those missed people :(

i sent scott another pm about the botched polls. i mean... missing some is one thing, but putting orange plate corals in with orange sun corals is another...
ever since the corals started this contest has become (unfortnunately) a joke.

I have to agree. My Xenia, brain, tongue, maze, fox, and zoos were missed, but surprisingly my lobo made it to the poll. My maze brain "does not reflect what SWF.com is selling" while two of the entries on that poll are lobos
. My entry looks exactly like the other with a slight color and shape difference, and yet theirs doesn't 100% match the current pic either. I think this contest could have been organized better.
Was I supposed to post one thread for every picture? I mean my thread that included all my entries was titled will all of the coral's common names. I see no reason why they could have been missed. Perhaps instead of everyone just posting their entries, a poll thread should have been stickied, then everyone post that particular piece on that thread, and their entries would be "pre-screened" and placed on the poll for vote.
I don't want to sound like a poor sport, but I feel that there have been a lot of other things that have gotten through too easily.
