Finally Fish YEA!!!

:joy: Alright so after cycling the tank(55 gal) and going on vacation, it's now 8 weeks later. The tank is empty except for the LR(90#) & LS(50#). My parameters have been stable for the last 6 weeks so I figured since I'm not going anywhere for a while lets get some fish.
Oh yeah:
Salinity 35
SG 1.025
Ammonia 0
Nitrites 0
Nitrates 10
PH 8.2
Temp 78-80
I got the following:
1 Flame Angel
1 Firefish Goby
1 Diamond Goby
1 small Zoo
1 small Frogspawn
and I probably messed up here but I got a small BTA
After 1 week everyone is happy and eating and the parameters haven't changed one iota. The Flame and Firefish both come out when I go up to the tank. The diamond is happily digging. The Firefish and Diamond are eating Mysis, Formula 2 and Spirilina Flakes. The Flame is picking at the rocks and glass like crazy but there isn't too much algae due to the very efficient cleanup crew. He will sort of pick at the Mysis but wants no part of the flakes, form 2 or Nori sheets. The BTA is happily eating the Mysis when I spot feed him and I started giving him Silersides as well. I'm feeding him every other day. If anyone has suggestions on getting the Flame to eat better I'm open to suggestion. He appears very happy though zooming around the tank.
The BTA did something very weird a few minutes ago. He sucked in all his tenticles and pulled his foot into a really tight ball. I know he's alive, his foot is still nice and pink and the tips of the tentalces are bright green (what I can see). He's slowly opening up again. What's going on?
Sorry this is so long winded. I'll post some picks after dinner. My son's bugging me to eat.

Alright, so after approx 2 hours the BTA is open again and other than some slightly funky looking tentacles, it looks almost as good as new. Anybody have any idea what it iswas doing? :notsure:

thats a nice line up but did you get those fish all at once? thats a lot to add to the bio load after a newly set up tank...how are your levels after those fish? how many did you add at once..2 months is a short time to add that many organisms, like to see a pic though :joy:

Yeah, I did get a little ahead of myself and addedit all over 3 days. after a week, my parameters are still the same. No changes whatsoever. I am keeping a close eye on them though. Here are a couple of pics.

I just love the firfish gobie. :cheer: I want one of those so bad, but the LFS here rarely get them in. I guess I might just have to order one. I love the pix, they look great. So you have been cycling the tank for 8 weeks, thats a long time to wait. I just started mine 2 weeks ago and really excited to get a fish when it's done cycling. I really cant wait. It's so hard.
But keep the pix coming and keep us updated on how everyone is doing.

I have to LFS's that get them all the time. I'm not thrilled with one of them but the other is OK. Igot everything but the flame from that depot palce. The flame came from the LFS I sort of trust, he had no Fire Goby's though.
The waiting wasn't that bad. IT cycled over about 4 weeks and then was stable for a week. Then I went on vacation for 2 weeks. After being back another week, I couldn't wait any longer and sort of went a little overboard. So far so good though!

After you added all those fish in 2 days, did you test your water? Its really not healthy to add that much at one time. Your ammonia probably spiked. Hopefully everyone turns out ok. Good luck!

I'been checking it every day and there hasn't even been the slightest bump in the readings. Take a look at the first post for my specs.

yeah thats good, id say in a solid week youll start seeing the effects, but it seems you are in the clear so far, back down feedings for a little bit , till it has more time to adjust...

Yes, the Formula 2 is Ffrozen. My Flame wants no part of it. He'll peck at the Mysis and look for algae all over the tank, but that's about it. Any other suggestions for getting him to eat more would definitely be appreciated. Oh and he won't go anywhere near the Nori. But he does think the clip is his buddy, swims around it a ll the time.
