i first got a 75 gal sw tank 3 yrs ago. after a year i got a 135 gal tank. i started off just throwing fish in and lost alot. once i got my 135 i took my time with it and built it up till it was perfect. then i lost almost all my fish and since then i have had trouble keeping any fish. all i had left is a yellow tang, blue/hippo tang, and a fiji damsel. 3 months ago i bought 4 damsels and said screw it i will just keep damsels and what fish i have left. then a couple weeks ago i found this message board and have already learned alot. i never gave the fish the proper time to adapt. so as of tomarrow i plan on buying a qt tank cycling it and hypoing my fish, and letting my display tank sit for 4-6 weeks. i have already started to feed them garlic soaked food once a week. ever since i got a tank i have religiously done water changes and cleaning once a week. i think i am getting the hang of what i need to do but, if there are any suggestions of any thing else i can do please let me know.

Glad to hear that you are sticking with the hobby and that you are on the right track for learning and improving your techniques. QTing fish is very important to success; that and learning how to closely observe fish while they are in QT so that you can detect and treat disease or stress issues early on.
Yes, the BB's are of tremendous help, and this BB, particularly, is user-friendly and welcomes all level of knowledge hobbyists. We are glad to have you with us! But don't omit good books as a resource for learning and advancing in the hobby. Good books have a lot to offer and there are many advanced hobbyists/professions who have "written the book", so to speak, on this hobby. We should get to know them and what they have to say.
