My long awaited reef aquarium is finally under way. I have been trying to find what to get for so long. I have been out of reef aquariums for the past few years and so much has changed. I want to know if anyone can tell me what they think about my setup. Please tell me if I have been directed right.
46gal. bow front
2x55w compact flourescent strip light from All glass with 10,000k corallife bulbs.
1X30w 10,000k phillips actinic flourescent tube
Seaclone 100 New Model
300aquaclear with three sponges (mechanical)
Lifegard fluidized bed filter FB300 (biological)
two aquaclear 402 power heads for current
Well what do you think, good bad alright????
Like I said earlier, I have been out of this hobby for a while, any input would be appreciated.

You'll need more light than that for most corals. There's a few softies you could probably keep under what you have now.

bo rock yet, I am going with 75lbs. of figi rock i just ordered. Aragomite on the bottom.
The lifegard fluidized bed filter is a hangon filter. What it is is a long see through filter with three lbs. of biological sand media that floats around in it. You connect a power head and it forces water in the filter. The sand then removes harmul amonia and nitrite and helps break down into nitrate. The sand also acts as a bacteria storage. It is like a sea storm, just a better model.

I would not worry about all the filters. just get a nice DSB 4-6 inches
lots of LR
a good skimmer
and you are ready to go.
since you are the DIY section i would recommend saving your moeny on the PC and getting MH. if you can do your own wiring it is much cheaper. 100 bucks for a 250 watt mh system complete.
