Well guys (and girls), I have finally filled my Surfline 90. Currently waiting on the sand to settle so I can see how even it is and if all is good, the shrimp is goin in.
Specs:
Marineland Surfline 90Gal
Cascade 1500 canister
Excalibur HV2 w/ MJ1200
Powersweep 228
2-Penguin 660's (old PH's I had sitting around the garage)
60lbs LS
35lbs dead seed rock
15lbs marshall island LR (have 20lbs on hold till cycle is over)
10,000K 40W bulb till I am ready for more lights in a few months
Temp-80.1
pH-8.2
Ammonia-0.25
Sal/SG-33/1.026
Let the fun begin. For those of you who don't know...I have had this tank sitting in the living room since March waiting till I had the time to set it up. I have a 45 corner that I have been playing with in the mean time (it is more of a teaser than anything).

Most the fog has cleared and out emerges the rockwork...

Second pic is the massive 1/10 lb shrimp. I asked for the biggest one they had and they handed me a monster. At least I'll be sure the nitrogen cycle will be kicked off!!

First test results are...
Temp-80.8
pH-7.8
SG-1.022
Amm-0.50
nitrItes-0.25
nitrAtes-10
I'm going to raise the SG as I top off with mixed water. I'm going to see if the pH raises as the tank matures. I'm using Instant Ocean salt so I shouldn't have a problem with stabilizing pH. Any opinions on this approach? Thanks.
Marsilly,
The wife has the camera tonight so I can't get a picture of it. It is nothing special. Just a fresh water tank.
