Finicky eater

Maybe someone could help me out here -
My baby bamboo doesn't seem to want to eat any frozen foods whatsoever. But, as soon as I put a live feeder fish in the tank (Rosie Reds), he goes crazy. I feed him with a tong, and he grabs the fish right away, but he can't seem to get the whole thing in his mouth, and after about 30 mins he gives up. I'm going to look for smaller feeders, but any other suggestions on feeding him? Should I go get some fresh seafood?

Live Ghost Shrimp my friend. Thats the best ya can do for now. Then go ahead with watever other feeders ya have. Wen it knows wat time it is to feed, u can start just dropping in the feeders, then dropping in feeders and frozen food, then just frozen food. It might tank longer with a shark though to get it on frozen. Gut Ghost Shrimp is yer best bet.

At the Toledo zoo we have had grate luck with feeding live foods starting off as time goes on we gradually switch over to frozen foods by offering a live feeder with in a second or 2 after we feed a killed feeder most of the time the shark will start taking previously killed or frozen foods with in a week or so . Hopefully this will save a bundle for you

Thanks for your input. With all of these hurricanes, it's been difficult getting ghost shrimp. This sharp seems to smell live food the minute it hits the water, and just won't go for anything dead (I've trued frozen foods, fresh scallops, fresh shrimp, etc). I keep a feeder tank, so i've just been chopping off the heads of smaller feeders, and cutting the larger ones in half just before I feed the shark. It seems to work. Sometimes he plays with his food, and sometimes he loses interest after a while, but I find if I stay diligent, he'll eventually eat. I suppose that hunger fuels him as well . . .
