Got the new tank and did a leak test. Held up fine. Tested the lighting and it too did great. 2xT5 actinc/2 moon lights and HQI 150 wt Phoenix 14K.
Here are a few pics. Plan on moving my rics into it this weekend. Not as large as I thought it would be. But what tank is. I just hope I can get them all in.
I do like the refugium. Very large for an all in one nano. Also like the return pump design. It feeds the refugium with a valve that can be adjusted for flow and the remaining goes to the display. Also added 2 Koralia nano pumps.
The grate to the furthest left is the overflow to the skimmer that feeds over and down through a small chamber that holds a sponge and can hold filter media. This flows down under the fuge and to the pump that feeds the fuge which returns direct to the display through the grate to the right. And as I said before, the prump also returns to the display what the refugium doesn't take. Also has a small 13wt sit-on refugium PC fixture, but I think I am going to hang in on the back so the chaeto can get full lighting all the way down into the refugium. It is kind of a deep fuge.
Think it is going to be a nice setup. I think for once I am not going to need to do any mods. I am adding a JBJ topoff in the back chambers.

Filled it with water and got the koralias and pumps going. Just fresh water but thought I would let it run in for a couple days and work any films loose that might be on the pumps and glass.
Filled with 5gl bucket and it holds approx. 27gls. Not too bad for a claimed 30gl with back compartment.
Ok now. I have had excellent results with T5s over my ricordeas so I was thinking of switching out the actinics in the MH fixture with power glos. The 14k MH puts out quite a bit of blue spectrum so I thought this might be OK instead of the actinics which seem to dissapear with the MH running.
What do you think?

Starting the set-up. Might move some rock in tonight, mayeb some rics.
I didn't really liek the operation of the stock skimmer, but I don't think I set it right. FOr now I am going to go with my pro clear as I know how to set it and it is pretty much broken in. Will probably end up with the stock skimmer later. It will set in the back and not be so obtrusive like the pro clear.

Also since I am going to go bare bottom I placed a 1/2 PVC that I drilled small holes in across the length and installed a power head to keep debris blown toward the front for easy siphoning.
I have always favored the bare bottom in the nano. It seems easier to maintain water quality through cleanliness, LR and refugium filteration (if you can call it that).
Sand beds can build up all sorts of nasties and I am not 100% positive what if any fish I will keep. Certainly none that rely on a sand bed. The LR will hide the PH and PVC.

That is one sweet looking system! Where did you get it? I am really interested in a larger tank that doesn't require a lot of mods.

If you email me I can give info on the dealer I got it from but can't do it here. Wish SWF sold tanks like this. flricordia @aol.com

Got the LR in and most of the zoanthids. I wanted to do a Ricordea only tnak but what can I say? How could you leave out those beautiful zoanthids from any tank?
So far got about 1/2 the rics moved, but ran out of glue so will finish the rest tomarrow after a Lowes run.
Still a few zoanthids left too. Only fish going in, at least for now, is a small black frogfish. Well, maybe a small damsel now and then to keep it company?

Wow! How many rics in their?
So far about 200 and I still have another 150 or so to go. Don't think I am going to get what I want in there. It is going to be crowded. I will have to keep a frag tank going so the excess can stay in there.
I have been getting stressed though trying to get what I want in the display in. Thought I would have it all fininished yesterday but no such luck.

One of my favorite rics. Loves the new tank.

Absolutely gorgeous tank overall.
Are the mouths on that ric blue?
BTW, love the green ridge on them... Those (from my limited experience in comparison to yours) are very hard to come by!
