Hi there. I'm new to the saltwater scene and I have a couple Qs about maroon clowns. For the record my tank is FOWLR and has been up for about six mo. Its a rare size its a 48 tall. I have a captive born pair of maroon gold stripe clowns, a banded shrimp and some cleaner snails and hermits. I've had really good luck w/ my new tank. My clowns are about 8-9 mo old maybe older because they are starting to get the gold in their stripes. They were both the same size when I got them but now there is alittle over a 1/2 inch diffrence between the two. What I assume to be the female is about 2 in. and the male is about 1 1/2 in. My Q is about the fin size on marron clowns. It seems to me that the fins on my clowns aren't as big or as full as some of the clowns that I've seen in pictures or even in person. I was at a LFS today and saw about 3-4 maroon and gold clowns that were no more than 2-2 1/2 in but had much larger and fuller fins than mine do. Is this because my clowns are younger? I have noticed considerable growth on both of my clown's fins but not as full as the others I've seen. Maybe if anyone has some pics of their clowns at a similar age as mine would help.
