Fire Goby Disappeared!!!!!!!!!!!

hello, I just got a fire goby 2 days ago. Everything was fine till he disappeared!!!! I have one other fish in my tank a Sailfin or lawnmower Blenny that has given me problems in the past with shrimp and I think he ate a damsel as hard as that may seem. But I dont think he did anything to the goby because they seemed fine the first day.I know they tend to jump out of the tank and I already checked all around it...nothing, no sign of the goby.
My question is do Fire Gobies hide for periods of time and then come out?
Is it because he is still shy or something?

i recently got 2 firefish and one of them dissappeared on me too, just poof no evidence no nothing, just gone.

Do you have any LR? Sometimes firefish like to hide in crevasses in the rock. Also how long have you had the goby and how long has it been missing?

my roomates firefish is never to be seen for most of the day. Its pretty content in one spot behind a rock. the only time i ever see it is during feeding. Hope you find it.

i named mine heidi cuz it hid the entire time when i first got it. then he would come out for periods of time and then shoot back in its hole. i bet yours probably is just hiding, although ive read (in 500 essential to know species book) that if they are housed with aggressive fish they will hide and not eat....good luck!

They are known jumpers, do you have a top? One of ours jumped and we were right there to put him back in :)
Also, they hide in the beginning, they can be timid. Some never see theirs. Ours are out all the time now, hid a lot until they got comfortable.
Since we don't have a top on our tank, we use the plastic egg crate (for lighting at home depot) when we are gone a lot.
