I had this frag of green zoas and I moved them to the fireshrimps main hang out. It used to have six polyps but now it only has two! I moved it away from him immediately. Has this ever happen to anyone?? any help is appreciated!!!

I have never heard of them bothering corals but then again maybe someone else has.
One thing to look for is those nudis that love to eat zoas, maybe you have some of those in your tank and they will eat all zoas from what i have read.
Hopefully someone else can help you out better with your question.

Well none of the of the other zoas have disappeared so i don't think it is those. But i could be wrong. I did see a few of those a while back and removed them immediately. But i am starting to think my tiger cowrie ate them? What do you think? I have heard as an adult they can eat them but i bought him a few weeks ago and he was medium sized. What do you think??

I made the mistake of adding a tiger cowrie to my tank also. I had a frag of yellow star polyps that the cowrie crawled onto and he proceeded to mow them off like a lawn mower. i thought he was just grazing on algae, but I noticed that the area of rock behind him was devoid of polyps. He was out of there the next day.

Yea same here i though he was eating algae! He did this to another coral and didnt harm it. Oh well i may return him. Most likely will~

Ya from what I have heard the Tiger Cowries will eat corals, they get huge too. I have the small Algae Eating Cowried and those guys are safe for sure as I have always had one in my tank and never bothered my corals at all. They don't even go on them mostly on the glass.
