Fire shrimp shedded

Hi guys. I bought a fire shrimp about a week ago. He's been doing fine, but just yesterday he shedded a layer of his skin. Is this normal? He actually seems to be doing better since? Thanks guys.

That is perfectly normal; when they grow they have to shed their exoskeleton. My cleaner shrimp does it about once a month.

All posts above quite correct. It is normal but the first time unless you have been pre- warned it is a little scary to see that second shrimp stuck against the rocks. I ususally remove that but in my reef I leave it as the fish eat it (sick huh).
