They are neat, but very expensive. About $16 - $25 depending when you go. A good place to check is
Jeff's Exotic Fish
115 West Victoria Street, Gardena, CA 90248
He has nice sales on Saturday

All I know (from reading here) fires are reef safe, but nocturnal. Will get along with other "cleaner" shrimp. All I got, HTH some. :)

Mine is out pretty much all the time especially during feeding time he climbs on rocks and dives off tryin to catch the food.... The only thing i dont like about him is when i feed my anemone silversides he sometimes comes up and jacks it.

beautiful shrimp and reef safe but very shy. Mine typically stays out of sight unless it thinks I am about to fed the tank. Also, have never seen mine "clean" any of my fish. This is not to say it never has I just have not witnessed it. Mine gets along fine with my skunk cleaner shrimp too. The skunk is more visible but they do hang out together quite often.

I have 5 Fireshrimp in my 135 fish only tank... they are great and quite attractive. They tend to hang out at the edge of holes and cracks... I see them quite a lot (much more at feeding time). No hassles with the cleaner shrimp or fish. I paid $20 each in So Cal (near Pasadena).

I see them everywhere I go. I don't go to Santa Clarita... bit of a drive. If you're willing to go to Pasadena... Pasadena Tropical Fish or Goldfish Plus in Covina both have them. Both owners give me a bit of a 'deal.' They list them for $25-35... you can get them for $20. Must be the 3-5k I spend in their stores each year... :D

Peter's is Goldfish Plus.. I don't have his card handy... he is the one that gives the best price... If you're driving this far, let me know and I'll meet you at the store (If I can)! ;)

I love how the fireshrimp look and want one, but I want a Pistol shrimp to go with my yellow watchman gobby, would it bother the pistol?

I don't have any pistols. But, I've never seen them bother the peppermints or the cleaners. Pistols and Fire are both 'peaceful.' You could always try it out and let me know.
