fire worms

i have seen a couple of small (1-2") fire worms on my life rock. does anyone know of a way to get rid of them?

If those are the bristle worms most of us are thinking of (I believe fire worm may be the more correct term?), I agree that you should be glad that you have them. I purchased some along with other critters for my sand bed. Only the larger ones are risky (not to the tank) for bare hands. You just have to be a little careful handling the rock, if you know there are larger bristle worms present. The ones you mentioned can't even hurt your hand if you hold them.
