I just caught the 'event' & moved all the LR to release the poor thing from the underwater
pump I use to circulate the water & a peice Of LR. It must have went searching for some flakes back there
& got trapped (kinda dumb in you ask me). Now the Firefish looks as if one of his fin is
damaged, hurt or not moving properly, because it's swimming at the bottom on one side &
goes in circles. Oh, one of the eyes is like bugged out...?? I actually just added some
Penicillin for fish, since my Flame Angel got a cloudy eye (looks to be ok, eating &
swimming normal. Now I don't know if this little one is gonna make it, what would be
recommended? One thing I know & need advice on, is should I turn off the lights to put them
at rest & slow down their breathing?? Please I don't wanna loose this beautiful creature I
just got about a month ago.

Are you putting antibiotics in the same tank with LR?? Inverts? Hopefully not.
Do you have the fish in a quarantine tank, or are you willing to put him in a quarantine tank?

Beth, I am putting the Penicillin in the main tank with LR & inverts. The instructions said
it wouldn't interfere with the biological. However I just realized it could be a problem
for the inverts, LR & I have a mushroom. Is this the case? I only treated the water one
time. Right now she is down under the giant piece of LR (20 lbs) & is 'resting'. I am afraid
if I move anything with her condition, she might get hurt the more. The other fish aren't
bothering her & seems to be fighting, because when I shine a flashlight near her she moves.
This is a 'iffy' situation, where the outcome could be positive or negative. I did go ahead
& turn the lights out soon after this event during the day to help with the stress factor.
Was this a good idea?? I have garlic treatment...should I add drops into the water to aid?
Whatelse can I do to assist? Probably nothing. I am doing a very 'low stress' water change.
