firefish

I just got two firefish and I was wondering how often other firefish parents feed them.
Mine little piggies are just that. They seem to constantly be trying to catch stuff in the water.
I feed twice a day, but am wondering about these guys. The seem like they are starving.

I've had one for over two years now....sometimes I go 3-4 days between feedings....sometimes I'll feed everyday.....and mine seems to be doing fine.....

I fed mine once a day also, either flake food or dried brine shrimp. That is, until he jumped out of my tank.

Dang, I guess I am feeding to much. I thought they were hungry. Maybe I should switch to once a day.

Most fish will eat as often as you feed them, but they don't need to. Feed them a high quality commercially prepared food (I'm pretty pleased with new life spectrum ). Don’t get all worked up about trying to imitate the fish’s natural food. It’s one of the biggest b.s. myths in fish keeping. I generally feed my fish twice a day, but sometimes once a day. In an aquarium setting, most people's goal is maintenance, not exponential growth. One of the positive characteristics of being a poikilothermic animal is that fish don’t need to consume nearly as much food as a warm-blooded organism. Fish convert their food much more efficiently than warm blooded mammals. Your fish will be fine if you skip a day or two, regardless of how pitiful and starved they look at you when you pass by the tank. :happyfish Don’t fall for their act!

I guess that right there is the key. I fall for it everytime.
:hilarious
Now my sand is looking like crap. I will try not to feed them this evening. Should I just cold turkey knock them to only every other day or work up to it?
