Firefish

I know you cannot keep two of the same kind of firefish together unless they are a mated pair but can you keep say one purple firefish and one red firefish or will they fight just the same??

you can keep the same kind of firefish together, they are schooling fish and do best(IMO) in groups of 2-3.
I first got one, and all it did was hide all day, and was to scared to come out and eat so it died.
Now i have two and they are pretty outgoing.
As for the red and purple fireshish question, im not sure

I've done it before, it can be done without problems. Just make sure that they have their own hiding places so that they don't fight each other.

As long as you add them at the same t ime and your tank is large enough I have 6 in my 265 2 pairs and two "nomads"
