firefish

my purple firefish has what looks like a large open pimple at the end of his body on both sides. it is an open wound and protrudes out a little.
any ideas what it is or how I could treat it?

Perhaps it is an open wound? Notice any aggression? When did this start? Is it read in the surrounding area? Protruding?

yes it seems to be an open wound and red in the middle, but just white around the edges. it protrudes a little bit. It is strange that it is on both sides. Almost like there could be somerthing in there.

Aggression going on in the tank? Can you move the fish to a hospital tank?

my royal gramma dart at him sometimes,but has never to my knowledge touched the firefish. What about a product like melafix for the open wound. It is safe for all corals and inverts. I do not have a hospital tank, and even if i did I couldnt catch him
