There was a large fireworks display a few blocks from my house on the 4th. My wife said she say the blue tang "jump in the tank". Has anyone had a simmilar problem? Any sudgestions for future shows?
thanks :help:
Well my first guess is that they were stressed already... tangs require large tanks at least 75gal for ONE, and if the blue tang ur talking about is a hippo the general accepted size is 100. The mand gobie eats pods so unless your tank is totally full of LR its not going to be enough to keep him alive- by full I mean full I have in my 55 about 110lbs and still dont consider it enough.
Loud noises can startle the fish but if they are healthy the fireworks shouldnt kill the fish you discussed. But blues are skittish anyway.
I live right by giants ballpark and have fireworks all the time w/o any problems. They just hide in the rockwork then come out a few hours afterwards.
