We got our first fish today, they are about ready to go in the tank...when do we start to feed them?

acclimate them slowly to allow them to adjust to your tank parameters before you put them in. you can try to feed a small amount of food when they are in the tank. don't be discouraged if they don't eat right away though. some take a couple of days before eating due to stress. if they don't eat in a day or two you might need to get some live blackworms or live brine shrimp to get them to eat. don't use this as a regular food though because there is no nutritional value for them.

Are you putting them in a quarantine tanke? It's a good idea to do and can save you money and fish in the long rune. They're relatively inexpensive and don't need all the fancy equipment of a display tank.
