First hosting!

I got 2 Koralia #2 units tonight for my 55gal reef tank, and after pulling out 3 assorted powerheads, installing the new Koralias and then tweaking their positions, everybody now seems happy. I now have decent flow all over the corals, including the long tentacled plate coral that my solo tomato clown is now hosting. I have never seen hosting behavior before, but the fish really, really, seems to be having a good time. Reminds me a bit of a cat finding a good stash of catnip! He is also hanging around my hammer coral, right next to the plate coral, acting all weird and stuff. The clown is defending "his" coral from the yellow damsels and they do not like it.
I have to think that the improved waterflow is somehow responsible for this behavior-what do y'all think?

I don't think waterflow has anything to do with it. Clown is very defensive to anyone who come close to its home .. try to get an anenome as home because most likely no other fish will pay interest to be close to an anenome.

It did seem strange that the hosting happened only when I got the new pumps-the plate coral now has it's tentacles all streched out and gently swaying in the flow and it is much longer than before, when it didn't get as much dispersed flow with the old powerheads.
My pair of maroon clowns seem to have no interest in the coral or the anenome though and just hide out under the rock and ambush my hand whenever I do something in the tank-they are a couple of tough guys.
