First New SPS

Well after buying a 250w MH with Ice Cap ballast for my 40g breeder, I was inspired and curious to try some SPS. Each frag was about $14.99 and each are 1-2''. My LFS guy told me these would be good SPS to start with and that they are fast growing.
I don't dose anything at the moment. Should I start? Will I be ok until they get large? I have roguhly 15-20 other lps/softies in the tank at the moment. The tank is about 3-4 months old.
Any advice? I know I jumped in a little bit but they were great pieces at a good price.

whats your cal and alk at? and i wouldve start with a monti but birds nest are great sps to start with! and what do you have for flow????

Cal and Alk are in check at the moment. Right where I want them actually. Corals that are in this tank that were transfered are doing 10x better in this tank then they ever were in my other reef. For Flow I have a Mag 7 return and a Koralia 3. It covers all dead spots basically.
I was going to get a Monti but my main LFS they didnt have any and at the other they wanted $25 for a 1/2'' frag.

oh. well if you see the whole tank is getting amazing flow then add the sps! well im pretty sure you already did. do you have pics????

I built a really quick DIY frag shelf so I can put them at optimal places until they get situated. They are getting almost direct flow and best lighting being that they are right below the MH. Ive seen polyp extension on all of the coral and found some Calcium so I dosed that just for a little help. The neon green birdsnest is deffiently my favorite so far.
These pics were taken about an hour after being in the tank so polyps arent open but started to later. Lights are off so no pictures until tomorrow.
