First RO system...questions

I finally got my RO system installed (bought it on the bay)...is it usual to get a LOT of water coming out the waste water tube and only a steady drip out of the pure water tube? I had my system running for about 4 hours yesterday and only got about 3 gallons of pure water from it...does that sound right?

I don't pretend to be any expert on RO systems, however they usually measure output by day. If you have a 26 gallon per day system or more, then I would think something is up.

Yes, Depending on the pressure of your inlet water. You will be wasting 3-4 gallons of water for every 1 gallon of pure water.

Poseidon...that seems about right. I had a new fixture put on my utility sink that is only 1/4" so there isn't a whole lot of water being pushed through at once. I would say that it is about 4 or 5 to 1, so not too far off of what you said....thanks for the quick reply!
