This is my first attempt using hyposalinty and I'm scared of doing more harm than good. I need some counsiling to get through this.lol
My Royal Gramma started scratching yesterday and Coral beauty is nervous acting.
So here what I have to work with
10 gal tank 5 gals of display tank water 5 new rodi salt water
density meter, temp calibrating
fluval 303
100 watt heater
PVC hiding spots
I will treat a coral beauty, royal gramma and yellow watchman
what do you think?

How do you know they have ich? Do you see the white spots? Any new additions to the tank recently?
Hyposalinity is perfectly safe. There are 2 things you must pay close attention to. First, as you lower the salinity, the pH usually also lowers. To fix this, you will need to test pH a couple of time a day during the dilution process, then, after you have reached hypo conditions be sure to keep checking for pH daily. The other thing to remember is to have an accurate salinity measuring instrument. Hyposalinity is a precise treatment and requires pinpoint accuracy. Furthermore, while the target 1.009 SG is perfectly fine for your fish, below that, the fish will start feeling stressed.
Take a look at the FAQ Thread at the top of this forum for info on the hyposalinity procedure.
Good Luck!

No white spots yet. RG is scratching on the rocks and CB is swimmimg franticly around the tank. CB pec fins quiver alot against his side. It's been three weeks since adding RG after two weeks quarantine. I guess it wasn't long enough and I emptied my Q tank last week since all was good.
I'm learning my lesson
