First water change?

Just curious as to when my first partial water change should be? My tank has been setup for 5 weeks, and it finished the cycle after about 3 1/2 weeks. I had brown algae but it has since turned to green algae. Fish are doing fine and the only filtration I still want is a protein skimmer. Should I do my first partial water change now or wait?

Wait untill you get a nitrate reading of 40-50 or more. Your LS will never develop if you dont give it chance to do its job. get a cleanup crew, including emerald crabs, for the algae.

Let me just note that I have an aggressive tank, with small huma and clown triggers, 50 gallon tank, 30lbs live rock, and crushed coral as my substrate. I have 900gph of filtration going on via emp 400, whisper 3, and magnum 350.
