just wondering how long i should let the saltwater that i will be adding sit for before adding it....

If you have a powerhead mixing it, then I would say 24 hours. Some salts mix quicker but since this is your first WC go by the book IMO. Make sure temp and SG are the same as the tank you are adding the water to.
