I'M LOOKING FOR A SUGESTION FOR A FISH TO ADD TO MY TANK. I HAVE A 55 GAL. TANK THAT HAS BEEN SET UP FOR 16 MONTHS. I PRESENTLY HAVE 1 PORCUPINE PUFFER(6" LONG) AND 1 PICASSO TRIGGER(2" LONG). LOOKING FOR SOMETHING COLORFUL THAT CAN BE SEEN AGAINST A BLACK BACKGROUND AND PEACEFUL BUT NOT TIMID. ANY SUGESTIONS ARE WELCOME.

I think there are a few Groupers that are quite colorful and would fit in with your other 2. But I think the Grouper would get a little big for a 55 gallon. Possibly a Dwarf Lion would add a little color to your tank.

I LOOKED UP GROUPERS AND THEIR TOO BIG AND TOO AGRESSIVE. I WAS THINKING OF A YELLOW LONG NOSE BUTTERFLY. ANT OTHER SUGESTIONS?

I figured that the Groupers may be a bit large and aggressive. Actually I have never dealt with a Butterfly Fish before. Another good choice for Puffers might be an Anthias of some sort. Dwarf Lions do well with those fish too. Hmmmm, well do a little research on the Butterfly Fish, I don't know if it would get along too well with the trigger.

Please, no butterflies in an aggressive tank. Besides they need excellent water quality & porky's & triggers make a mess!!
If you're worried about grouper size, porky's get real big!! You've got problems with a 55 an the fish that can hold thier own in there. I'd move up to a 125+ so you can add naso tang & lionfish.

I'D LOVE TO UP GRADE TO A 125 GAL TANK BUT CAN'T TALK MY WIFE INTO IT, AND BELIEVE ME I'VE TRIED. I WAS HOPING THAT THE LONG NOSE BUTTERFLY WOULD HELP CLEAN UP THE SCAPS OF FOOD FROM THE PUFFER AND TRIGGER. WOULD ANY OTHER FISH FILL THAT BILL AND NOT BECOME FOOD THEMSELFS?
