Fish color

Do fish lose their color brightness when the aquarium lights are off or does it just look like it? MIne seem to be very pale when just my house lights are on in the morning, then when the VHO's come on, they are very colorful. Is it really changing or does the lights just make them look more colorful?

my mandarin goby turns a pale blue/white kinda liek a dead man, i got realy scared the first ngith that he died. my sailfin blenny also turnes a blue white but he always does that when someone swimsby him, and glars his fin at them, so maybe your fish got spooked by the light, what fish is it?

That is normal. I especially notice it with my yellow tang in the morning.
