Fish Eating Anenome

Quick question for all of you out there.
I noticed that my clown fish was missing and my anenome was closed. Then, about 3 weeks later on of my domino damsels were missing and the anenome was closed again. Are there anenomes that eat fish? Kind of like a venus flytrap?
What are your thoughts and experience?
Thanks,
Turtle

They will eat fish. Hard to believe a clown though. Go to Mr. Salty's web site to see a pic of his carpet eating his ex-puffer.

Ofcorse anemones eat fish. That is how they feed in the wild. Although it is unlikly that your clown became a meal,it is not impossible.Every fish in your tank is a potential meal for him. I have lost quite a few fish in mine. The puffer mentioned before was a surprise though. It was a LARGE fish. When he puffed up,he was a little smaller than a baseball. It's kinda disturbing that you have one of these in your tank when you obviously don't know anything about them.Anemones require special care, and tank conditions in order to survive. They MUST have good lighting(not stock flo's)and can NOT tollerate poor water quality usually found in young/imature tanks. But anyhow, here's that pic.

Maybe an anemone keeping a clown happy is kinda like a cow farmer... Feed them, make them feel safe, then one day...DINNER!
