fish for condensed tanks

with my 50 hex i dont know what fish i can have or can't...if anyone knows fish that dont need a ton of room to swim
i hav a chunck of space set up in my tank thats open to make room for swimming but the problem is that my tank is higher not longer
if anyone knows fish that i could put in fill me in and please help

I will admit you are quite limited on the fish you can keep do to the fact of width of swim room. fish thay may do ok in your system I would think may be like a flame hawk(they dont swim they climb rockwork) small fish species will be in your best interest.posible fish like reef safe wrasses that do well with other like species.

i persoanlly wouldnt due the fact that majority of fish tend to swim more frome side to side of the tanks betterflys included in a hex(tall but narrow) the free swimming space becomes very limited as to what is natural for them.maybe some cardenal fish would be ok.you'll want to keep small species that are not highly active but lingering about IMO .my buttefly is all over my 300 but yet the cardenal, flamehawk and dottyback tend to move about in smaller areas of the while still being active and viewable.even chromis may fair well in your set up. I may be wrong but what I am discribing is what I have witnessed as behavior of these fish in my own tanks

i have a 30 gall & i'm gonna try 1 midas blenny 1 flame cardinal 1 purpleback pseudochromis 1 cinnamon clown some inverts & coral
