Fish for tank

So I've been researching fish I'd like to put in my tank... but wanted some advice on them.. I wonder if they will be fine together...
I have a 55 gallon which after its cycled is going to be Liverock for now...
I was thinking of getting
Either a blue koran angel Juvinile or a Coral Beauty
1. royal gramma (probably later on down the road)
percula clown
mandarin dragonet
shrimp goby
huma huma trigger
I know the trigger is usually not good, but this one said that it can be in a community tank and most of the time wont harm the other fish.. what do you all think?
is that too many fish?

no koran angel even if its juvenille you could only get dwarf angels (and only one fo them cuz they usually dont get a long together) no trigger i dont think ( they need a bigger tank)
i would suggest getting a pair of clwons, coral beauty, shrimp goby, and maybe a heniochus butterfly or two
the mandarin needs a really well established tank if im not mistaken
if you have any more ?'s just ask : )

yeah i just reread the blue koran angel, and it says it needs a tank of 100 gallons or more.. so thats one is cute... How long would you say before I could add a mandarin?? that would be awhile since you said it needs a well established tank???
I thought butterflies were relatively hard to care for?? and arent they tempramental???
these are the fish i wrote down that i liked, going by that i want a peaceful tank...
i told you most of them...
but i also liked the flameback angel ( i know you can only have one per tank) so i just didnt know what was my best choice..
coral beauty
lemonpeel
royal gramma
clown
jewel damsal
mandrain dragonet
shrimp goby
hawain spotted puffer
blue hippo tang (although I doubt I would get this, because I know that they are hard to take care of)
and the huma huma..
are any of the other ones that i listed, okay???? not the ones you said to cut from the list?

dont do the damsel( they can get aggressive)
choose one of the lemonpeel, coral beauty, or flameback
royal gramma would be ok
i would say no mandarin cuz they are really hard to care for
get a pair of clowns
no hawaaiin puffer if you really wanta puffer geta saddle valentine puffer
the heniochus butterflies are one of the best butterflies to get
no huma huma
i would go away from teh hippo.. they tend to get dieseases a lot
if you really want a tang get a yellow tang ( but make sure your tank is established)
i hope i answered all your questions and i hope i wasnt too confusing
so basically the fishlist im suggesting based on ur wish list is
1 dwarf angel
2 clwons
royal gramma
shrimp goby
valentine puffer*
yellow tang*
*= if you reallly want them you would proablby have to pick one or the other

umm starfish definetely need a lot of lr and a very well established tank with greay water conditions
i would suggets getting a chocolate chip star but they are not reef safe
so is ur tank setup now? what do u have in it ? lr,ls , water, empty?? what stage are u at?

Yes I'm set up right now.. in the begginning stages...55 gallons.. We set up 3 days ago... Right now we have a 4 lb piece of LR in there and 4 hermit crabs (which before you say anything ---was not my idea LOL, my husband went to get the liverock, and the lfs guy told him that the hermits would start the cycling (my husband doesnt know much) i was pissed at him for bringing them home--i dont want them to die... ) but i was researching and found a sight that said they are hardy and will do fine in the tank) i'm thinking about tanking them back .. one has just shed his ecoskeleton.. when we set up we put one bag of arogonite livesand, and one bag of crushed coral, which is almost just like the sand, you can't tell the difference... between the two... i tested yesterday and am at 8.0 for ph, 0.00 - 0.25 for ammonia, 0 for nitrites and 0 for nitrates..
I have not bought a protein skimmer, but everything I've read says it would be okay to wait until the cycle is over to put the skimmer in???
I have regular lights on the tank, but plan on upgrading those as well.

fisrt off get rid of the crushed coral... it will trap chemicals that you dont want and is not good for your tank
2nd i would say take the hermits back
3rd put about 55 pounds of lr in now and that will definetely kick start the cycle and spped it up a lot
youll wantto have a bout 50-60 pounds of live sand or deeper depending on the look you want... not too deep though
you will want to get a protein skimmer as it does soo much to clean out the water
i think i answered all of your ?'s
if you have anymore just ask : )

so that means that i have to clean the whole tank out again? how do i get rid of the crushed coral without getting rid of the sand... when they are both mixed together and honestly, u cannot tell the difference.. the coral looks just like what the sand does.. most pictures that i've seen on here ( and a friend of mine that has a tank-who uses crushed coral --- it looks like pebbles, mine does not.. I should take a picture)
does that mean that if i get rid of it, i have to refill my whole tank???? and start all over again??? i know that everyone says that it can cause problems ect... but then like i said i have a friend that uses crushed coral and his tank is so beautiful and he's not had any problems or anything, isnt it basically just a difference of opinion???
what stage do you think i'm at right now when i told you what my water perimeters are at???
I am getting more rock, today I think actually.. but its coming from my friends friend tank, because he is getting rid of all of it... is that okay??? he has had no fish in his tank, just the liverock with the lights.

well since the liverock is coming from an established tank i dont think it will startthe cycle
you can keep the crushed coral in there if you really want to but it might cause problems down the road
it doesnt seem like your tank has started to cycle yet but putting in uncured live rock will definetely work
also to help the cycle along.. got to a grocery store and get 2-3 dead raw shrimp and putr them in your tank along with the live rock.. this will definetely start they cycle
do not put damsels or any live stock in your tank no matter what your lfs says
how much live sand do u have in it right now?

actually i dont know how to upload the pictures to here, but i could send you one in email so you can see what i mean about my livesand/crushed coral, if you want?

forgot to add since your probably getting the lr for free from your frined (idk) just take that and get liek 3 dead raw shrimp and just drop em in your tank : )

yeah i just checked the bags, it says 20 lbs.. and the crushed coral so that i'm making sense is atlantic crushed coral gravel
it says on the coral bag
maintains superior ph and marine chemical balance
provides maximum surface area for biological nitrification
scientifically graded for uniformity which provides maximum water flow and aeration
prevents anerboic "dead spots" in bacteria bed
completely chemical free

i dont know what he has, we were planning on going over there today, what would you suggest that I take??? maybe i should just order some uncured to start the cycle??? are you saying its not starting at all with the liverock thats in there now and the sand??? i guess i will have to go get some some raw dead shrimp? how many did you say? 3? then just drop them in the tank?

it might not start with the current lr in your tank cuz its only 4 lbs did you say? i would say just go to your freinds huse and take aboyt 40 lbs or more if you can! since youre probably getting it for a good price or free just take it: ) and then get 3 dead raw shrimp and drop them in your tank and keep em in there until you see a significant spike in your ammonia then take them out : )
