fish gasping

i have some type of cleaner wrassle eel and it uslly hinds under the rock and now its swimming to the top of the water gasping i think it might of got stung by my amones i seen him touch them a couple of times.
another thing he looks like hes shedding

First Welcome to the board, Can you please give more info on your tank, the size, nitrate, nitrites, Amn., this info will be very helpful. Lisa
P.S I'm curious if your Nitrites are high..
