My husband and I are new to the hobby. We have been reading a lot of information about how to take care of the tank but not much about different fish and how to meet their needs. Can anyone recommend some good reading material that tells about different fish and what they need to have a happy life?
Thank you!:happyfish

Marine Fishes by Scott W. Michael. It list over 500 species fo fishes and their needs. It is sort of like a salt water fish bible for me.:)

If your still looking for reading material. How about Saltwater Aquarium for dummies. I thought it was a good beginners book.

We bought Saltwater Aquarium for dummies and refer to it a lot. Thank you for the other book suggestion also. We might be purchasing it in the near future.

Nobody has mentioned "the conscientious marine aquarist." To many on this forum, it represents the foundation for this hobby.
This particular book gives you not an overview of the hobby, but insight into your own particular goals. (It inspires reflection.)
You can plan a tank after reading this book.
It is a recommended.
