what are your readings for Ammonia, nitrate, and Nitrite?
Did you acclimate the clown properly?
these ?s may answer why your clown died

ammonia and nitrite 0 sg 1.023 i acclimated the fish by floating the bag and adding 3/4 cup water every 15 min for an hour

that was probably the reason why your fish died then. you added 3/4 of a cup every 15 min for an hour. that's not ideal at all.
do a search on 'acclimation'
the jist of what I do is...add a shot glass of tank water every 10 minutes for the FIRST hour, then for the SECOND hour add a shot glass of tank water every 5 minutes.

o.k, do you know anthing about the drip method? i know basicall how to do it, but how do you get the water to drip through the tube instead of being a steady flow?

BLondie, just my two cents worth, I acclimate the same way you do, and haven't had any problems. Might have been an already-sick fish. It happens.
