I am thinking of buying a 75 gallon fish only/predator tank. I want to add a puffer, tang, wrasse, angelfish and clownfish. I will not add them all at the same time very slowly. But I was wondering how do you keep a cleanup crew alive without them getting eaten?
Dwarf lion you could do an angler I think but I have never had one. Uh gold stripe clown would be great. Dwarf angle pigmy coral beauty. Smaller wrasse are out there. Snowflake eel. There are some small puffers also the figure 8 and greenspot.
In a 72 "agressive" set-up you could have a Lion, one of the smaller Puffers (like Valentini), a Maroon Clown, a Yellow Tang, a Flame Angel. The really agressive fish like Triggers, large Angels, large Tangs get way too big for this tank.
the yellow tang is a huge no no. the Valentini puffer is a good choice though also.i have a yellow tang in my 150 and i wish it had more swimming room. you put a yellow tang in a 75 gallon and the tang police will come knockin.
You can get smaller angels, anthias , snowflake eel , dwarf lion fish, and maybe some little wrassee's (prob. reef safe though cause they can get queit aggresive)
.
Do not get an angler they will eat everything they can eat fish twice there size
I had a 72 gallon aggressive with a snowflake eel, blue-spotted grouper, lunar wrasse, and niger trigger and they were all healthy the entire time I had them. I moved after having them for a few years so I had to give them away. You could probably make a yellow tang work in there too but they're not that aggressive or fun to watch so why bother.
