fish or inverts that start the cycle???

what fish or invert should i use to start the cycle plz help me out

I would cycle with LR and a piece of shrimp from the grocery store. IMO it is cruel to put a fish thru a cycle. With the Ammonia, Nitrite, and Nitrate Spikes getting as high as they do it is really hard on the fish. So like I said live rock and store bought shrimp. HTH

this is a dumb qestion but i want to make sure that its not, do you mean a dead shrimp that you eat???

Exactly,,,Uncooked fresh cocktail type shrimp.....

wow, so i buy one or two of thoughs and toss them in and the cycle should start?

Yes it will take a little bit for the cycle to start but keeping doing water test. The shrimp has to start decomposing before the cycle will start. Also do you have any live rock at all?

ok so i just get lr and a dead shrimp and put them in the tank and in a week or so the cycle will start cool now i understand

make it at least 2, maybe even 3, and after your ammonia spikes and peaks and your nitrites start to climb, you can remove them
what you want to happen,is the shrimp to decompose, this starts the cycle off, by causing ammonia spikes in the water, which is what you need to start breeding our bacteria that you want
