I have a 55gal fish only tank.....I have 2 clown perculas, 1 flame angel and 1 yellow tang.....
They are perfectly happy and the tank has been doing great for about a year...
I just received a gift certificate, and was thinking about adding 1 to 2 more fish....My son (4 yrs old) wants the blue hippo tang (Dory!!) my question is:
Will the hippo and yellow tangs get along?? and how easy are the blue hippos to keep....what other species of fish should I look at for a peaceful community....thanks
P.S. the yellow tang is just about medium size

I wouldn't add any more fish. Crowding the yellow tang will drive him to aggression, and a 55 gallon tank is too small for a Blue Hippo (Dory).
To answer your question though, the yellow tang and the Blue Hippo are two different genus(es??), Zebrasoma and Paracanthurus, respectively, so they will theoretically be peaceful towards each other. I keep a Sailfin Tang (also a Zebrasoma) and a Hippo in a 110 gallon FO and they get along just fine.
If you absolutely must add more fish, I'd consider smaller species, like maybe a sixline wrasse, a goby, or maybe a Royal Gramma. If you want a nemo tank, add a cleaner shrimp and call him Jacques.
