Fish Sleeping - Turn Off Powerheads?

Should I turn off my powerheads over night so my fish can sleep easier? It would still have some flower in my tank from my canister filter....it would be about 4.5X flow instead of the typical 10-14X flow. Just wondering.

I don't think that God turns off the waves in the ocean at night.
The powerheads won't bother the fish. I leave mine on.

Hey asbury030, do you have a pic of your maroon? They are my favorite, and i hope to get a pair once I've finished the ole cycle.
As for turning powerheads off, I don't think it will make a difference for how well your fish sleep, as elfdoctors said, god doesn't turn off the waves at night, IMO the loss of flow might disturb them more than keeping things like the fish are used to!

Heh, like Asbury, my false percula sleeps right next to the filter. He's actually allowed himself to be sucked up on the side of the filter while he sleeps. I thought he was dead at first! heh.

The ocean is more calmer at night, so I have most of my powerheads shut off so the fish wont be blowing around when theyre trying to sleep.

My one tang will actually let the powerhead blow him up against a rock and he will stay there for hours at night...at first I was shocked and I thought he was sick... But as soon as the lights go on he is ready for the day...well rested also.
