HI,
I have a 29 gallon tall tank with a pygmy angel and two banded clown in it along with some crabs/snails/shrimp. Does anyone have any suggestions other than a wrasse that I could add to get some more color and swimming action? I love the Anthinia's but they are too large for my tank.....anything similar out there suitbale for me? Thanks in advance for any thoughts/suggestions.

Very cool responses, Thanks. Now are the blue/green chromis going to be OK as singletons or a pair? Also, will they play nice?
I love the firefish, thought about doing a pair, but I am worried about jumping and fin nipping. I have a glass lid but there are significant openings in the back between my equipment so I would really worry about losing one or both. Also I didn't know if the angel or clown would nip at their ling fins. Beautiful fish though. Anybody have any thoughts over my concerns? Keep the opinions coming!!

My clown & coral beauty dont mess with mine at all and if you tank is pretty low key the fish should not get scared and jump out i think its worth the try.

lyretail anthias
mostly only eats from water column too.... very personable... male always swims out to greet me... best fish in the tank... but a carnivore that likes to eat frequently.

Oh I love the anthias but I thought my tank is too small? Is that particular one a smaller fish?

I have a male and female in my 75... there is a Clarkii and a YT as tank mates. I too have read that a larger tank is better... I cant really speak to a 29 but my 2 really stick to 1/2 of the tank... and my clarkii keeps the male in check which I think keeps him from harassing the female too much (which is why more than 1 female is ideal... spreads out the aggression) maybe im just lucky but like I said the male leaves the female alone. I would almost say a single male would be fine but maybe someone can comment... you might even be able to get a single female and observe it morph to a male...
can anyone comment with some first hand experience on a single lyretail in a 29 or similar tank?

I've been told not to put one in my 29. It's not so much the fish's size but the fact that they need to be able to swim and get aggressive in jammed spaces.

yeah, its the aggressiveness issue.... thats why i mention the big clarkii in my tank... he keeps the anthias in check... there is enough of a struggle between them so the other fish get left alone!! They both eat like pigs but the male is not prone to venture into the clarkii territory on "the other side of the tank"

Mmm. My angel and two-band are happy together at the moment. Maybe I should add a bottom dweller like a goby and leave it at that. I thought my pistol shrimp had passed but there he was today, so a goby is sounding better by the minute. Thanks again everybody for your ideas.
