Fish suggestions

So I am new to the hobby, and I am learning new things everyday. There are a lot of fish that I like, and so many I would love to add to my tank, but I am determined to keep everything in my tank perfectly paired. I don't want to add anyone that will pester my other creatures.
I have a 47 tall tank. Right now the occupants include; 1 maroon clown (I had 2 but she killed her mate), 2 emerald crabs, 2 skunk shrimp, 2 peppermint shrimp, and few hermits & small snails.
I had a cowfish, but he never thrived, then one day he got stuck in the live rock and by the time I got him out he was all but gone and didn't last long :(
I would prefer a mostly creature tank with just a few fish anyway. It is in my 2 yr old's room, so i would prefer them to be eye catching and active. The maroon killed her mate, but she has never pestered the cowfish or any of the creatures.
So I guess my question is; What would you guys suggest/recommend fish wise to add to my tank? I would like to have 2 or 3 additional fish in the tank. Plus if you know of any neat creatures that would be good additions to my tank I would love that as well.
Thanks so much everyone! I really value all of the knowledgeable advice I get from everyone on this board!

You could do a pair of Bangaii Cardinals, and a bi colored blenny - I wouldn't add much more. Maroon Clowns are aggressive, maybe you could consider exchanging it for a pair of Osc. or Percula clowns.

you might be able to add a few blue chromis. That maroon may not allow any new additions.

I had a watchman goby that the maroon never bothered, and she never bothered my cowfish...the only thing she ever pestered was the other clown. I really love my maroon, so if it came down to it i would rather have just the maroon in my tank than get rid of it so i can have a couple other fish.

How do we feel about algea blennys? A friend of mine has an algea blenny he wants to sell me. He also has a pistol shrimp, who I totally want...but I would love to pair him with a prawn goby eventually. Is it okay to pair them separately, or is it better to introduce them to the tank at the same time? I would very much prefer for them to be buddies.
Thanks soooo much for your suggestions and help. I appreciate it sooo much!

I could bet money that the maroon played a hand in your cowfish's demise. They're very, very aggressive, even if you're not seeing it. Was her mate killed before or after the cowfish?
Pistol shrimp/goby pairs are awesome. I love mine, but they can be reclusive. I do recommend adding them together, and if possible, QT them together to make sure they pair. This can be done in a small plastic critter tank (those plastic crates meant for taking a hamster or similar small pet home from the pet store). The crates have a grated top, so it will fill with water and stay sunk in your tank. Just put some sand and a small piece of live rock for them to pair up in a burrow. Once you're satisfied that they're paired, release them TOGETHER in your tank. They may separate for awhile, but once paired, they'll usually find each other again.
I LOVE blennies. So my opinion is biased. Although, I'd be afraid of the clown being aggressive with it, since they're much more docile.
With such an aggressive maroon, you might want to stick with more aggressive fish. Trust me, even if she is not aggressive towards others yet, she will as she matures. I'd stick with fish, such as hawkfish, a dwarf angelfish, damsel, etc.

The maroon was one of the first fish I put in my tank. So way before the cowfish. I have actually NEVER seen her pester any other fish than her mate. How do you guys feel about a fire angel or a coral beauty? Do you think that either of them would do well in my tank? Could i get one of each, or are they ones that its one or the other because they are both angels? I had a hawkfish for a long time that I really liked, but he immediately killed the peppermints i put in to clear up an aptasia problem. I had tried several different methods and been unsuccessful. So I traded in my hawkfish and got the new shrimp and the shrimp cleared it up in about a week. The clown also never seems to bother any of the other creatures in the tank. He has his favorite spot, and mostly just stays there until its time to eat...he is a piggy :)
