Fish Suggestions

I currently have a 55 gallon tank with the following fish: lemon peel angel, 2 clowns, royal dotty back and a mandarin. I want to add another fish, but just can't figure out what would go good with my royal dottyback. The dottyback can be a jerk to new comers. I think I need to stay away from fish with long, slender bodies.

How old is your set up? This is difficult because of the dottyback and the angel. Hmmmmmm. A TANG!! Lol

LOL... Blue reef chromis, my orchid dottyback thinks he is part of the pack. He loves them.
By the way..week one and no losses, they seem really hardy...a little fin nipping among themselves and then they settled down....they are a very pretty blue and stay out in the open, swimming all day.

Did I miss something? What happened to your Anthias?
Some ideas:
Tail Spot or Bi Color Blenny
Flasher or Fairy Wrasse of some sort
Yellow Assessor Basslet
Leopard Wrasse

You know, I might try the anthias again. I figure if I get rid of the dottyback, I won't have to worry about them being picked on. My angel does not bother any new additions. Also, my bio load is much lighter than when I tried before.

If you're serious about getting rid of the dottyback, then yes I'd say go with an Anthias or a flasher wrasse...

I realized today that I despise my dottyback. She is pure evil. She kills shrimp and attacked my watchman goby that was burrowed in his cave. This fish is just nasty. It was OK when I first got it but as it is maturing it has gotten NASTY. I'm done with it. I am getting it out either Wednesday or Thursday. She will be banished from the tank. I am considering throwing together a five gallon tank and tossing her in until I can find a better home.

I felt that way about a maroon clownfish. Oh, was THAT fish a swimming terror. It was a sad day when I had to break that tank down, but I still walked in with a smile on my face when I went to the LFS to trade that monster in for credit.

Haha! I had a sixline that was my fish from hell. We couldn't catch it, but it finally jumped into our overflow so we could get it out. He got donated to the shark tank at a local LFS.

Oh my gosh...... seriously?
Yup ... They tried putting him in a few different tanks, he kept attacking fish. Even attacked a lionfish and a trigger, so in the shark tank he went. He lasted about 3 weeks in the shark tank before he wasn't seen anymore. Meanest fish I ever owned! When he killed my mandarin, he literally beat it across the tank, chased it into an anemone and every time it tried to get out of the anemone, it attacked it right back in. It was brutal.
