I have converted my 55 to a 75 after a losing most of my fish to an ich epidemic (QT lesson learned). I took the few fish I made it through the Ich outbreak back to the fish store so as not to subject them to the "move" in case the new tank goes through a cycle. So, I'm basically starting over. The good news is that I can spend some time planning the fish that I will add to the tank. I'd like to consider making it a reef tank eventually, so I don't want many fish in there. I'm looking for suggestions on what fish to add.
Here's my set-up:
-75g tank
-65 lbs. live rock (will add 25 lbs. in a month or two)
-30-35 pounds of other rock that has good corraline growth (I suppose it make become live some day)
-wet/dry with bio-balls (I'm considering removing them, but am undecided at this point) with Rio 2100 return pump rated at about 350 gph for the 4ft of head length
-2 CAP 1200 powerheads inside the tank rated at 550 gph each
-AquaC Urchin in-sump skimmer
-2-3 inches of sand
I will have 2 Clarkiis, 1 flame hawk, and a cleanup crew of 25 scarlet hermits and 10-15 turbo snails for sure. What else should I add to give some bright color? I'd like to add some schooling fish such as chromis or anthias. Any guidance on these would be helpful (which one, how many?). I'd also like some purple and/or yellow in the tank. Any ideas? Thanks!
