sfc normally ships over night with fish ( thus the 25 shipping fee). They give you acclimation procedures which are the same that I would normally use. They have a "guarantee" on the fish, which means that if it dies, heaven forebid, soon after you introduce it, they will take it back as long as your water conditions are normal (so you have to ship them a little bit of water).
The package I got from them I was impressed. The styrofoam was sealed and had a heater in it to keep its inhabitants happy. hth.

i bought my tusk from saltwaterfish.com and it took 1 day to get it. i strongly think people should use them if you can't find your fish that you want in your local store.

Imagine that! I just received a fish this morning and had all the same questions you do before I ordered him. I ordered him last week and asked specifically to have him at my home today, which he did. And it was very early too! It was a clown trigger and he is gorgeous! I also got some hermit crabs. The company (SALTWATERFISH.COM) was quick to respond to my emails and were courteous. I highly recommend it. If you are like me and don't have time to search high and low for the fish you really want, it is worth it to purchase this way. And if you follow their acclimation instructions to the "T" your fish will thrive. My clown is already interacting with his tankmates as if he was there forever. Good luck!
