Fish Trouble

Hi Guys,
Need some help pretty please.
Had a young naso tang for about 4 weeks now. He is less than 4" long. He aclimatised really well to the tank, was picking off the live rock and eating well.
A couple of weeks ago we noticed he had all but stopped eating and has gotten very skinny. We have tried different foods to tempt him but nothing seems to be working so far. We feed a mixture of brineshrimp and spirulla, brineshrimp and garlic, nanocuisine, atremia, green seaweed and live brineshimp varying all the time so the fish have a nice varied diet. He doesn't seem to be getting picked on at all during feeding times but he is a bit of a wimp so tends to get muscled out quite alot (even though he is one of the bigger fish) Yesterday we replaced a small jewel puffer (~ 2") for a much larger puffer and, although he doesn't seem to be giving the naso any hassle, this morning our naso has taken a really bad turn. He is not eating at all, not really swimming and keeps lying at the bottom of the tank.
Tested the water and all seems good, PH 8.3, ammonia and nitrite virtually nil, nitrate ~20ppm, temp 26, salinity perfect. His house mates are 1x yellow tang, 1x puffer, 2xdamsels, 1x unidentified (although he has been there since we have the tank and is very docile so no hassle from him!) 1xsmall lobster and 1xhermit crab.
We have got the low lights on at the mo to try and keep him calm and are getting some different types of food to try and tempt him but i'm really worried he's gonna die. Please help, any advise gratefully received!

No we didn't. Our LFS is pretty good and they keep their fish for a good few weeks before they are put up for sale and he was healthy when we got him. We called them today and said it sounds ike stress so i'm trying to do anything to chill him out and encourage him to eat. Were pretty new to the hobby and don't have a QT yet as we bought the tank fully set up with fish in it. Maybe we should set one up? We have a small tank that used to house tropical fish in it that would probably be ok and a spare heater but what else would we need? Im a bit worried about catching and moving him if it is stress as will this make it worse??

I got my clown after about 6 weeks of being at my LFS. He was fat and happy in the store, he ate well. I saw him there for 3 weeks before I decided to buy him (the LFS had him about 3 weeks before that...so a total of 6 weeks at LFS).
When I brought him home, he was very stressed and then over a few days, he mellowed out. I noticed that when I did something to the tank (added fish/inverts, did a water change...etc) he would get stressed out again.
Now, he is in a QT (which I should have just set up from the start and added him to to begin with), because he has ich from being stressed out.
I'm sorry I can't help out more as this is my second time getting into this hobby but I'm still new to it. But if I were you, I would set up a QT for any additional fish/corals that you plan on adding.
Good luck.

I don't have a powerhead on mine right now. But I think I should get one. So I would say you will need a filter (HOB is fine), a heater, a hood with lighting (though I keep my lights off most of the day to keep stress down), and a powerhead. Make sure the QT is large enough to hold the fish you plan on keeping. Imagine you had to treat ALL your fish at the same time, and make sure the tank is large enough for them all w/o being stressed.

First thing to let you know I too was in your shoes the worst feeling is watching a fish die. I hate to say it but if it won’t eat live brine shrimp or algae sheets, then I won’t say it. Then please take this tip set up a QT tank, for two reasons, one: to prevent your existing fish getting sick and two: give you time to feed the guy without stress and fatten him or she up. Take it slow, a fat health fish is joy to watch.

any chance you're not getting enough oxygen in the water due to lack of surface aggitation? I lost a fish in Qt like this a couple months ago because i failed to place the powerhead near the surface to get some waves going.
Just thinking that if he doesnt look like hes being bullied maybe its something else.
