i had one and it worked about a week and died, they replaced my pump no questions asked and it skimmed minimally... i have heard good things about the biocube skimmer tho

The biocube skimmer works off of an airstone which is similar to the berlin airlift skimmer that is currently on my 29 gal. It is very difficult to keep it skimming consistently because as the airstone gets dirty, you have to very very very slowly adjust the flow from the air pump. I don't particularly like it, which is why I was interested in the Fission skimmer. It looks like it doesn't need an airstone so I was hoping it would function more consistently.

the "air injector" tube is finicky... it clogs with salt creep, humidity, and somehow with air... like i said, when it worked it was ok, but it was never "awesome!"
btw, heaven forbid if the air intake detaches, cuz the closed housing makes it impossible to reinsert! ...best of luck!
