Hey everyone I own a aquapod 24g and wanted to add a protein skimmer. The intruction said to make sure I mantain a minimal water level on the skimmer. But how deep can I place the skimmer in the water? The lid wont close if I dont put it in deep enough. But the skimmer is almost completly under water. And I am guessing its in to deep, cuz I am getting bubbles and water to the cup.

I have one I tested a bit with skimmer gunk in a bucket of water. To me it seems like the aproxamate most effective hight, when adjusted, is about a 1/4" below the

on the collection cup. Be aware you will most likely have to change the pads more often than it suggests and might have to double them up. OH an effective replacement, when you get to the point you need it, those filter pads used for ponds. I experimented with them a bit. Cut small squares a little smaller than the pads inside (they stretch a little) cut the corners off thus making a rough octagon, and snip a hole in the middle and put 2 up inside and smear around till they fit. Hope that helps a bit.
