flame angel in need of algae

im getting a flame angel this week. ive read they like mixed diet with algae as part ofit. i cant get any algae to grow in my tank. the 10 snails i have in my tank eat it all plus the crabs starfish .. any suggestoins for growing some for him to nibble on? thanks

Try O.S.I. spirulina flake and Ocean nutrition frozen spirulina formula. Also soak you foods in Zoe a few times a week as zoe is heavy in spirulina.

I would supplement with food like formula 2, frozen version. Worked for my coral beauty.
Algae will get hold eventually.

I would also recommend Seaweed Selects. It is dry natural seawee (macroalgea). There is a variety of dried algea they sell. HTH :)

I feed my Cherub Angel (which I love to watch cruise in and out of the live rock) a frozen fish food by Ocean Nutrition. It is the Pygmy Angel Formula which contains several species of marine algae and spirulina. I would guess that this would be great for your fish as it is a dwarf angel like mine. Good Luck! By the way my angel Loves this food!

if you have any stores that sell sushi stuff you could buy dried nori. it a dried seaweed i have an kole tang and lawnmower blenny that love it
